A Bit About Me

I am a current graduate student at the University of Mississippi's Center for the Study of Southern Culture, pursuing a master's in Southern Studies with an emphasis on queer Southern foodways.

I achieved my BA (Hons) in History and Politics of the Americas from University College London in 2024, where my dissertation focused on the role of food in queer quotidian protest from the 1970s-1990s. I intend to use my time at UM to expand on this undergraduate work, particularly utilizing oral histories and storytelling to highlight the voices of queer Southerners and champion their foodways.

My ultimate goal is to write about food for a living. This blog is a way to showcase my food journalism skills and experience, and, ultimately, my food stories in order to prove that writing about food is worth it. Everyone eats, so let's dig in!
